A clear purpose and sound foundation are essential for any Website.  

By debating the issues, then defining core objectives, the LFHHS Publications Committee has set a clear direction and purpose for the website, to guide its future development.

Purpose of the website
	The website is the brochure of the Lancashire Family History & Heraldry Society.
	Its primary aim is to explain, promote to, and inform the public at large about the benefits of joining the Society.
	The secondary purpose is to provide information for existing Society members. This will be best achieved through the development and expansion of branch "sub-websites" as part of the LFHHS website.

During this development phase, focus on key objectives will preclude developing the Website as a genealogical resource for the county of Lancashire.
