| Management Structure

The Society is a democratic organisation. It has a constitution, honorary officials, and manages its business through a system of Committees
 | The management of the Society is through an Executive Committee and a Management Team. |
 | The Executive meets four times a year, and the Management Team, a minimum bi-monthly, or as required. |
 | The Executive Committee, oversees all the work of the Society and consists of the Society Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretary, Editor, (all elected at the Society Annual General Meeting), plus one representative from each Branch. |
 | The Vice Chairman is an Executive Committee appointment, and is elected at the first Executive meeting of a new Society Year in June, which follows the Society Annual General Meeting and Conference, this also applies to the Minute Secretary. |
 | The Management Team is appointed by the Executive and it is responsible for the day to day running of the Society. It consists of the Society Chairman, plus the appointed head of the following Teams:
- Business & Treasury
- Members Services
- Projects & Publications
- Publicity & Public Relations
- Training & Education
- Resources (inc. The Straits, the Society's Centre)

 | Invitations to attend are also extended to other officials as required if they are not also branch representatives of the Executive. These include:
- Projects Co-ordinator
- Exhibitions Co-ordinator
- Webmaster
- North West Group of FHS, Representative
- Federation of FHS, Representative.

 | Each Branch establishes its own local management structure to run the affairs of that particular branch. |
